Nashville Soccer Club Academy Partners with the TPH Center of Excellence to Expand on Hybrid Academics Model
TPH has partnered with the Nashville Soccer Club Academy (NSC) to help NSC leverage the Edmentum academic platform utilized around the country by TPH in its Centers of Excellence (CoE). NSC serves elite youth soccer players and believes that the hybrid learning environment offered through the CoE is the future for dedicated student athletes who want to achieve their greatest potential in both athletics and academics. There are currently 14 NSC student-athletes enrolled in the Nashville CoE academic platform.
“We are excited to be working closely with TPH by having NSC Academy players follow the Edmentum academic program”, says Jamie Smith, the Nashville SC Academy Director. “Working closely with TPH allows our academy players to socialize with other athletes from different sports while pursuing their academic needs to the highest standard.”
Both organizations believe the traditional school model limits the potential of the aspiring student athletes. NSC’s main goal is individual player development and their staff work has focused heavily on creating an environment that enables players to excel in the classroom and on the field. Partnering with the CoE provides NSC athletes with a balanced, customized approach for its student-athletes through a NCAA-accredited learning program.
“We appreciate the opportunity that the NSC Youth Academy has given us to provide a proven, athlete-friendly option for maximizing learning and development,” states Nathan Bowen, Total Package Hockey CEO. “This model will allow the students to maximize the training opportunities in the sport they love while also preparing them to be successful college freshmen. The NSC and MLS investment in young players through the Youth Academy program is extremely unique, and we are proud to support the student-athlete journey.”
