“We are thrilled to welcome Jeanna to the team,” stated TPH Chief Executive Officer Alan Keeso. “Her vast experiences mentoring both students and athletes of all ages make her a perfect fit for this role. Beyond that, Jeanna is a resident of the Bay of Quinte Region, is plugged into all things hockey in the area, and is extremely passionate about helping hockey players achieve success inside and outside the game. We feel very fortunate to have Jeanna on the TPH team, and we are confident that World Elite families will share in that sentiment.”

In referencing her “vast experiences,” Keeso is alluding to Oke’s six years working as a supply teacher for The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, her experiences serving as Owner and Head Instructor of Spitfires Hockey, and her years spent as a certified personal trainer. Beyond this, Oke currently coaches in the Quinte Red Devils program, a role she will continue while serving as Director and Head of Academics at World Elite – Powered by TPH Academy.

Perhaps what’s most impressive about Oke’s credentials is that she is a hockey mom who has put three boys through minor hockey. Oke believes that the many lenses she has viewed student-athlete development through will allow her to make the greatest possible positive impact on the student-athletes who Study, Train and Play at World Elite – Powered by TPH Academy.

“What really excites me most about this position is the opportunity to use the classroom as my avenue to grow student-athletes as people,” Oke shared. “As a former supply teacher, I preached the importance of academics. As a coach, I take pride in helping hockey players understand that school is a vehicle to bigger and better things in life, and as a mom, being diligent inside and outside of the classroom was always a non-negotiable. TPH prides itself on using the Academy to develop student-athletes holistically, in and beyond the game, and that’s exactly what I intend to do for those that join us at World Elite in 23-24.”
